===============================================================
Well ! 2005 !
President Bush said it best:(paraphrasing): “ I think we can agree, the past is all history” !
I certainly resolve to communicate more frequently in the new year, but much more importantly, your association has continued to work very diligently ( doggedly, actually) on a special project that we can now report is ready for the unveiling. Yes, the “PPR” (Pilot Planning Room) is finished !!
BIG NEWS !
All tenants now have available a Planning Room in the West end of the big ‘G ’ (new) hangar row --- # ‘G 10 ‘ ---- for use by registered key access. (Visit the Airport Manager’s office to register). In addition to the roomy fully finished/ heated & cooled space, a much-needed additional restroom facility is part of the package. Our hats are off to current President Gary Smith who developed the idea, supported by former President Ted Stathis. In recent months, board member Bill Wierzbicky has worked with the Airport Manager’s office on design features, progress reviews, and has installed computer cabling throughout. Least we, the association, grab all the claim to fatherhood on this project, let me point-out that this is an airport improvement project that Manager Charlie Abell worked to make a budget item and displayed the strength & wisdom to push ahead. Asst. Manager Andy McGilvray handled the contracts from start to finish and really made it happen. Secretary Tammy Albaugh kept it all documented. Good work, everyone !
Pilot Planning Room, GOING FORWARD.
Your association is in the process of furnishing the planning room. Current needs are quality wooden shelving, wooden or quality folding chairs, coat-racks, two Pentium computers, and maybe an ink-jet printer. Stay tuned for an updated wish list in the next week or so.
An open house for association members, guests, and interested pilots is in the planning for the second Saturday in February, that’s Feb. 12th. We’ll plan on 11am ‘til 3pm and the association will have the hot dogs. Since our annual banquet meeting is overdue, we’re going to try something a little different this year and combine an annual meeting with this planning room open house to make it easier for everyone to attend. Please see the following paragraph on the need for director/volunteers as well as the separate 2005 association action-plan survey sheet that we trust you’ll complete and mail-back.
